To help us answer faster, please include your device and OS version, your app version (Settings → the build shown at the bottom), and what you expected to happen. Please do not send us card numbers or photographs of your cards — we do not need them, and email is not a place for them.

Carddis keeps everything on your device. We have no account to look up and no copy of your wallet, so please describe the problem in the message — we cannot see your cards from here, and we do not want to.

Common questions

The till will not scan the code on my screen

Two things to check. First, the symbology: the same digits drawn as EAN-13 and as Code 128 are different patterns of bars, and only the right one will read. It is shown as a chip under the card number and you can correct it by hand. Second, the screen: turn on the brightness boost on the code screen, hold the phone flat, and take any case or screen protector with a strong anti-glare finish out of the way. Some tills use a laser reader that cannot read a screen at all — there, the plastic card is still the answer.

Scanning does not recognise my card

A worn, curved or badly printed code often will not read. Type the number in by hand instead: Carddis works out the symbology from the digits, and you can adjust it if it guesses wrong. You can also photograph the card and let the App analyse the picture. On the iOS Simulator, analysing a saved image does not work at all — that is a limitation of Apple's Vision framework, not of your card.

The camera says access is denied

Allow camera access for Carddis in system settings, then reopen the scanner. Cards can always be added without the camera by typing the number in.

The logo for a shop is not found

Logos come from a public brand catalogue that indexes brands under their Latin-alphabet names. The App already tries transliterations of a Cyrillic name, but a small or local shop may simply not be listed. You can pick your own image instead, or leave it: the card gets a monogram, and nothing else depends on the logo.

I have run out of free code openings

The free tier covers ten openings of a card's code in a calendar month. The counter resets on the first of the next month, and an opening the App refused is not counted. Carddis Pro removes the counter entirely. Everything else — adding cards, scanning, photos, categories, search — is free and unlimited.

Subscriptions, billing and refunds

Carddis Pro is billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings — deleting the App does not cancel it. Refunds are issued by Apple or Google under their own policies; email us if you need help with a request. If you have paid and the App still counts openings, use Restore purchases in Settings first.

How do I move my cards to a new phone?

Carddis has no sync and no export yet, so cards do not travel by themselves. If your new device is restored from a full backup of the old one, the App's data comes with it; otherwise the cards have to be added again.

How do I delete everything?

Delete individual cards in the App — photos and logos go with them — or remove the App to erase all of it at once. See Your data and how to delete it.

A privacy request

Almost everything Carddis holds is already in your hands — see the Privacy Policy for what leaves the device and who receives it. For anything else, email us.
